Grocery Bagging Fundraiser at Sobeys

Just a reminder of our Parkside Grocery Bagging fundraiser happening this Saturday, December 22nd at Sobeys in Summerside. Information about this fundraiser was included in our most recent school newsletter as well as displayed in the school lobby at both parent-teacher interview days.

We are looking for a few more students to help for the 2:00-4:00PM shift. If your child is able to help, please email Mrs. Arsenault at alexandraarsenault@edu.pe.ca

For those are are helping – here’s some info for you:
If possible, please have students arrive about 10 minutes prior to your scheduled shift so that we can give them some instructions/information about how they will be helping customers with their groceries.

Students will also gather periodically with Mrs. Arsenault in order to sing Christmas carols to the customers who are waiting in line. The songs will be:
* Jingle Bells
* We Wish You a Merry Christmas
* Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
* Santa Claus is Coming to Town
* Star of Christmas (Sobeys Christmas Theme Song – video link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzEzieGNBI)

Mrs. Arsenault will have copies of the lyrics available for those who need them.

Thank you for supporting our school! Merry Christmas!

Parkside’s Christmas flea market will now be held tomorrow Thursday, December 20th.  We would like to thank all of our volunteers who have previously offered to help with the flea market.  It would be fantastic if you are able to help out tomorrow!  However, we understand that this may not be possible due to work schedules and other commitments.  We would appreciate you letting us know if you are no longer able to volunteer.  We will also gladly welcome any new volunteers that are available to assist tomorrow.  Volunteer time slots are as follows:

1)   8:35am – 10:20 am

Our flea market requires many volunteers in order to run smoothly and we are very appreciative of the help of our Parkside community.  Please email Melanie MacDonald at mvmacdonald@edu.pe.ca regarding any volunteer changes/information.  Thank you!

Parkside Christmas Concert

This message is a reminder that on our concert day, this Thursday, we will be having 2 showings: an 11:00 concert and a 1:00 concert.
For each concert the doors will not open until 30 minutes prior to the concert, which means the doors will not open until 10:30 and 12:30. If any parents/relatives are planning on coming earlier than those times, please dress warm. Environment Canada is calling for a mild winter day of -5.
The entry/exit for the concert will be the back gym doors. The front doors and gym lobby doors will be locked and there will be signage posted to point everyone in the right direction to enter the back end of the gym.
